This site contains packages from Sun's "Companion CD" of free software,
like gcc, emacs, etc.

You can download packages by hand, but they are optimized for download by
pkg-get, the automated download tool.

We recommend that you install pkg-get on your solaris (sol8 or higher)
system, and configure it to use one of the http URLs listed below, to let
you do things like:
  # pkg-get install lynx

If you like to do this for multiple systems, you might want to take
advantage of rsync, and keep a local master system of the packages for
faster installs.

If you are downloading packages by hand, gunzip the downloaded file,
then install with

# pkgadd -d

I have the Solaris 5.8-x86 version or the Solaris 5.8-sparc version
